Invisalign And ClearCorrect Do The Same Thing: Provide Brace-Free Orthodontic Correction

The basics of both Invisalign and ClearCorrect are the same. Both treatments use retainer-like, clear plastic “aligners” to shift the position of your teeth. With both treatments, each set of aligners is worn for 20-22 hours per day for about 2 weeks to correct your smile.

If you want to straighten your teeth without braces, either one of these treatments is a good choice. This is not to say they’re completely identical, however. There are some differences between each treatment, which we’ll discuss in-depth in the next section of this blog.

What Are The Differences Between Invisalign & ClearCorrect?

Wondering how Invisalign and ClearCorrect differ?

  • Type of plastic used – ClearCorrect and Invisalign have different types of plastic used in their aligners.

Invisalign has its patented SmartTrack plastic, which was developed after studying hundreds of different materials. ClearCorrect also has its own proprietary plastic material, which offers similar results.

  • Aligner thickness – Typically, Invisalign aligners are a bit thicker than ClearCorrect aligners. This means they are slightly more durable, but they also feel a bit more bulky when worn.

In contrast, ClearCorrect uses thinner plastic that is not quite as strong and durable as Invisalign, but feels more natural and is less noticeable, since the plastic is very thin.
  • Cost of treatment – ClearCorrect is typically cheaper than Invisalign for most patients, though this is not always the case. Every patient is unique, so the best way to see which treatment is cheaper is to consult with a dentist who offers both treatments.

  • Treatment types – Both Invisalign and ClearCorrect have different treatment options. Invisalign, for example, has “full Invisalign” which provides unlimited aligners, as well as “Express 10” and “Express 5” aligners which include 10 and 5 aligners, respectively.

Similarly, ClearCorrect has an unlimited plan, as well as a Flex plan, which allows a customizable number of aligners (determined by your doctor) to be used.
